Black Coffee In Bed

Sometimes I can't wait to go to bed at night because I know I can eat breakfast when I wake up.. If I could eat breakfast food for every meal I would! Here are some of my favourites..

Greek yoghurt with chia seeds, goji berries and almonds

2 hard boiled eggs, with baby spinach, avocado, tomato and Danish fetta

Quick Oats Sachet with crushed almonds and goji berries

Berry Sorbet: 1 frozen banana, a handful of frozen mixed berries, 1 heaped tbsp of Greek yoghurt and a spoonful of chia seeds, all mixed up in the vitamix blender (who says you can't have ice-cream for breakfast?)

1/2 avocado with tomato on Burgen Weight Management Toast

A large cold-pressed juice

2 egg scramble with onion, zucchini, tomato, mushrooms, Danish fetta and baby spinach

Pancakes- 2 eggs, 1 banana, handful of baby spinach, 8 cashew nuts and a tsp of chia seeds mixed up in vitamix blender until it makes a batter, fried in coconut oil and served with Greek yoghurt and mixed berries

One Fine Day

Waking up at my usual 6.30am on the 3rd Feb 2014, I went to the bathroom and lo and behold, my water had broken! Tahli was breach, so we had a scheduled C-section for the following day, but she had other ideas..

We called the hospital, packed our bags and headed up to the Mater, but not before taking a happy snap on the balcony of me in labour first :)

At this stage we didn't know whether we were having a boy or girl, so we were extra excited to meet her and finally find out! Dave and I both got into our hospital get-up and prepared ourselves for what was about to happen..

They wheeled me through to theatre and that was when the nerves kicked in.. For both Dave and I..

The epidural went in painlessly and they started the c-section straight away.. It was over before we knew it. She was born just after 10am and was perfect in every way.. Best day ever!

NĂºmero Uno

So, I'm starting this blog as a letter to my little girl..

When I was little, I was fascinated with everything my mum did.. How she did her hair, what she wore, how she put on her makeup, what she cooked, and what her and her friends got up to.

My mum has been such a massive influence on the person I am today and who I want to be as a parent to Tahli, and as a new mum, I would LOVE to have known how she felt and what she got up to when she first had my sister and I.

So this blog is all about giving Tahli and I the opportunity to one day read this blog together and laugh at the old fashioned things that we wore and the things we got up to, before she remembers doing them!
